Boeckman Road Corridor Improvements

Boeckman Bridge - Before
Boeckman Bridge - After
September 2025 - Project Update
After a little more than 3 years of intense design and construction work, Boeckman Road re-opened on May 21, 2025 and the contract was deemed substantially complete on July 24, 2025. The “punch list” of minor corrections and repairs has been under way since that time and will be finished off in September of 2025. The project is covered by a 1-year warranty to correct minor repairs and may continue if additional items are discovered which could result in future minor delays to the traveling public.
We’re proud to say three major goals were achieved with this project:
- Boeckman Road was reopened within the shortest time practical to minimize disruptions to the public.
- The project was substantially complete prior to the original target for the new Frog Pond Primary School grand opening (which was August 26, 2025).
- Seven capital projects ended up being combined into one large project which proved to greatly reduce the time the community was inconvenienced by construction in the area. This approach also meant efficiencies in use of limited resources, including funding, staff time, and consultant costs. Without this approach, constructing each project separately would have resulted in the community experiencing roadway or utility construction nearly continuously for 8-10 years.
The seven projects accomplished with the Boeckman Road Corridor Project were:
- Meridian Creek Culvert Replacement
- Temporary Signal at Stafford Road and 65th Street
- Boeckman Road Sewer Extension
- Joint Utility Trench for Franchise Utilities/ PGE Relocation on Boeckman Road
- Boeckman Road Improvements
- Boeckman Dip Bridge
- Roundabout at Canyon Creek Road
The City and Project team greatly appreciate the community patience, communication, and understanding in constructing the project. It’s never easy to live near or travel through a construction site. The Boeckman Road Corridor project now represents valuable community assets and improvements that will be enjoyed by all for years to come.
Thank you for your support in this endeavor!
What’s ahead:
As the City continues to expand, the need to provide new infrastructure to support our future neighborhoods also continues. Several nearby projects currently in design include:
- Boeckman Creek Interceptor and Trail
- This project will increase sewer capacity and provide a trail connection from the Frog Pond Neighborhood, under the bridge, to Wilsonville Road.
- More information on this project can be found at: https://www.wilsonvilleoregon.gov/engineering/page/boeckman-creek-interceptor-and-trail-project
- Boeckman Creek Flow Mitigation Project
- This project removes the old Boeckman Road roadway embankment and culvert and flow control structure under the new bridge. Boeckman Creek will be restored to a far more natural condition with fish passage – similar to how it was prior to the construction of the dip in the 1960s.
- More information on this project can be found at: https://www.wilsonvilleoregon.gov/engineering/project/boeckman-creek-flow-mitigation-site
- Stafford Road Widening
- This project widens and improves Stafford Road between Frog Pond West and East, and will include intersections improvements at the Stafford / Boeckman Intersection.

About the Project
Boeckman Road provides a vital connection through Wilsonville as one of three primary east/west corridors for travel. With new Wilsonville neighborhoods in the Frog Pond area and a new primary school on the way, the road is even more essential.
The Boeckman Road Corridor Project provides upgrades on Boeckman Road between Canyon Creek Road and Wilsonville/Stafford Roads to make it safer and easier for all users —drivers, cyclists, pedestrians, and riders — along the corridor.
To minimize disruptions, speed up completion, and provide cost efficiencies, the project combines four projects in one.
These include:
- Boeckman Dip Bridge Construction
- Sewer Extension between Stafford Road and Boeckman Dip
- Boeckman Road Street Improvements
- Canyon Creek Road/Boeckman Road Intersection Improvements

WHY BUILD THE BOECKMAN BRIDGE AND ROUNDABOUT?
We’ve heard from residents asking, “Why is the City building a bridge across Boeckman Creek?” And “Why build a roundabout?”
The most important reason is safety for our community. Today the Boeckman Dip has substandard features that contribute to unsafe travel conditions:
- Two narrow travel lanes
- No shoulders
- Steep grade
- Limited sight distance to see and be seen
- No bike lanes
- Sidewalk on only one side
Resulting in:
- Limited access for those that have trouble trekking up and down steep hills.
- Difficult and hazardous bicycle travel.
- Insufficient sight distance contributing to rear end crashes at Canyon Creek Road.
- Frequent reckless driving
The bridge will greatly reduce these risks and ensure safer travel now and well into the future.
The roundabout at Canyon Creek Road will keep traffic moving much more efficiently over time than the current 4-way stop. Roundabouts have proven to provide safe, cost effective, low maintenance intersection solutions. In order to coordinate it with the bridge, the best time to build it is now.
Project Timeline
The bridge is expected to be open in June of 2025, subject to change.
Overall project completion is expected in October of 2025, subject to change.

Project Overview
Boeckman Dip Bridge Construction: The project upgrades a section of Boeckman Road constructed in the 1960s.
- Constructs a new bridge over Boeckman Creek
- Upgrades the existing steep, narrow, rural roadway to an urban standard
- Reduces slope of roadway and improves visibility for drivers, pedestrians, emergency responders and transit vehicles
- Builds safe bicycle and pedestrian facilities to make it safer and easier to walk, run, and cycle
- Removes culvert for future project to improve fish passage
- Enhances the creek’s natural resources and treats stormwater for improved water quality
Boeckman Creek Regional Trail Connection: Constructs a section of the Boeckman Creek Regional Trail between the new bridge and Frog Pond. Future construction will connect the trail to Memorial Park.
Boeckman Road Sewer Improvements: Constructs approximately one-half mile of new sanitary sewer trunk on Boeckman Road to serve the Frog Pond area. The new sewer will connect existing sewer lines between the new bridge on the west and Wilsonville/Stafford Roads on the east.
The Boeckman Road Street Improvements: Improves the existing roadway between Canyon Creek Road and the Wilsonville/Stafford intersections to accommodate all users—drivers, riders, pedestrians, and cyclists. The design will incorporate Safe Routes to Schools elements for the future primary school and Meridian Creek Middle School and protected crossing elements for neighborhood connections.
Canyon Creek Road/Boeckman Road Intersection Improvements: Constructs a traffic signal or roundabout at the intersection of Canyon Creek Road and Boeckman Road to relieve congestion, improve safety and traffic flow.
Stafford Road / SW 65th Avenue / Elligsen Road Intersection: To mitigate traffic impacts during closure of Boeckman Road for the bridge construction a temporary traffic signal will be installed to detour traffic at the Stafford Road/ SW 65th Avenue/ Elligsen Road intersection.
