June 5, 2005 — The City and Republic Services are hosting the spring Bulky Waste Day collection on Saturday, Jun. 21, from 9 am to 1 pm at Republic Services (10295 SW Ridder Rd.) in Wilsonville.
Bulky Waste Day provides an opportunity for Wilsonville residents to dispose of large or unusual items that cannot be picked up curbside. Proof of residence is required to participate.
June 3, 2025 — At the June 2, 2025, meeting of the Wilsonville City Council, following a public hearing, the Council adopted the City’s budget for the 2025-26 fiscal year that begins on July 1.

May 29, 2025 — Wilsonville has joined a coalition of local governments and transit authorities from around the country in a federal lawsuit that is challenging the Trump administration’s unlawful action to impose new conditions on previously awarded federal grants without approval from Congress.
The lawsuit, filed in U.S. District Court for the Western District of Washington against the Trump administration’s Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) and the Department of Transportation (DOT), challenges the administration’s addition of unlawful conditions placed on jurisdictions in order to receive federal funding for public transit and homelessness assistance, putting critical services for residents at risk.

On Wednesday, June 11, 2025, beginning at 6 pm, the Planning Commission will hold a public hearing regarding the CFEC Parking Compliance and Standards Reform, and will consider whether to recommend to City Council adoption of the Development Code amendments.

WILSONVILLE, Ore. — At the May 19, 2025, meeting of the Wilsonville City Council, the Council approved nearly $100,000 in allocations recommended by the Wilsonville-Metro Community Enhancement Committee from funds provided by Metro to offset the impacts of the waste processing plant in Wilsonville operated by Republic Services.
Five applicants were awarded funding, including social services non-profits Heart of the City ($41,905 to support building safety enhancements) and Wilsonville Community Sharing ($11,350 to fund their upcoming relocation to the Vuela building).
WILSONVILLE, Ore. — At the May 5, 2025, meeting of the Wilsonville City Council, Mayor Shawn O’Neil delivered his 2025 State of the City Address, which detailed the City’s challenges and opportunities, highlighted recent achievements, and celebrated Wilsonville’s standing as an innovative and inclusive community.
The Council adopted two-year goals that outline specific strategies aligned among four broad goals: public safety and welfare, financial health, communications and engagement, and parks maintenance. These goals guide the work of City staff by providing specific steps that can be taken for the community’s benefit over the next two years.
May 2, 2025 — On Wednesday, May 21, the City anticipates re-opening the segment of Boeckman Road east of Interstate 5 that has been closed for more than a year to construct the Boeckman Bridge and a new roundabout at the Canyon Creek Road intersection.
Once the bridge reopens to two-way thru traffic, expect traffic controls as finishing work continues; minor lane and sidewalk closures may be necessary. Until the bridge opens, crews are completing detail work, including paving, signing and road striping.

April 22, 2025 — At the April 21, 2025, meeting of the Wilsonville City Council, the City Council reflected on the life and legacy of long-time Wilsonville resident Aaron Woods (1950-2025), who passed away on Saturday. A former member of the City’s Planning Commission (2020-22), and the Development Review Board (2013-18), Woods has represented the greater Wilsonville-area’s interest as State Senator since 2023.
“Senator Aaron Woods will be deeply missed, but his impact will continue to shape our community for generations to come,” Mayor Shawn O’Neil said.
April 21, 2025 — City of Wilsonville Mayor Shawn O’Neil is scheduled to present the 2025 State of the City address at the May 5 meeting of the Wilsonville City Council, which takes place at 7 pm at Wilsonville City Hall (29799 SW Town Center Loop E.).
The traditional State of the City address celebrates the City’s recent achievements, and offers progress and insight on new initiatives, challenges, opportunities, and aspirations. Thematically, Mayor O’Neil’s first State of the City will highlight Wilsonville as a community that fosters connection and belonging, where every voice is heard and valued, and where diverse backgrounds and experiences are celebrated.
April 21, 2025 — The City of Wilsonville mourns the passing of State Senator Aaron Woods, a long-time Wilsonville resident and City board member, who passed away on Saturday in Colorado.

March 31, 2025 — A city with a lot of heart is about to become a city with a lot of hearts.
Ten large fiberglass hearts, painted by local artists, are going to be displayed at public sites throughout Wilsonville starting this May. The project’s theme – “Many Cultures, One Heart” – represents the distinctive artistic and cultural framework that makes Wilsonville a wonderful place.
“The project is providing emerging and professional artists, as well as students, with an opportunity to gain experience with public art and installed works,” said Erika Valentine, the City’s Arts and Culture Program Coordinator.
March 27, 2025 — The City’s Arts, Culture, and Heritage Commission (ACHC) invites the community to experience Wilsonville’s first Multicultural Dance Celebration, a free event that takes place on Thursday, April 3, 6:30-8:30 pm at McMenamin’s Old Church (30340 SW Boones Ferry Rd). Doors open at 6 pm.
The ACHC is hosting this event in celebration of Wilsonville’s diverse community. It seeks to foster cultural appreciation through dance, a powerful form of expression that transcends language barriers, and embodies the history, traditions, and emotions of cultures around the world.

March 18, 2025 — At the March 17, 2025, meeting of the Wilsonville City Council, the City Council renewed annual property-tax exemptions at five local multi-family facilities — Autumn Park Apartments, Charleston Apartments, Creekside Woods LP, Rain Garden LP and Wiedemann Park — that provide the community with 365 residential units of affordable housing. These annual exemptions allow the facilities to provide lower-cost rent to families, seniors and individuals meeting income qualifications.
During Mayor’s Business, Mayor Shawn O’Neil summarized the Council’s recent two-day goal-setting session, which took place last weekend. He stated the Council’s 2025-2027 goals and expressed gratitude for the work and collaboration among Councilors and City staff to identify new priorities for the next two years.
March 4, 2025 — The March 3, 2025, meeting of the Wilsonville City Council included a work session only; no public meeting was held.
During that session, the City’s Community Development staff provided the new Council with a deep dive on the history of the Wilsonville Town Center Plan, which was adopted by the City Council in 2019 to guide new development within and adjacent the Town Center Loop over the next 40 years.
