Apollo 11 launching with a Saturn V rocket

Presents how the USA conceived the design for the Saturn V.  After President Kennedy committed the United States to landing astronauts on the moon and returning them safely back to the Earth NASA did not exist nor did the necessary rockets and the associated gear.  Presented is the how we arrived at the Saturn 1 and Saturn 5 designs and development leading to a successful Apollo 11 mission to the Moon and safely returning to the Earth.
