Public Comment: Updated Local Wetlands Inventory for Frog Pond East & South

In 2024, the City of Wilsonville contracted with Pacific Habitat Services (PHS) to conduct an updated Local Wetlands Inventory (LWI) within the Frog Pond East & South Master Plan area (study area). The City of Wilsonville is required by Oregon law (Statewide Planning Goal 5) to identify and assess wetlands to update the City’s Comprehensive Plan.  The LWI provides useful planning information both for property owners and for the City.

The LWI includes all wetlands larger than 0.5 acres. The LWI identified approximate locations of wetlands and waters. Information shown in the LWI report is for planning purposes only and wetland information is subject to change. There may be unmapped wetlands subject to regulation and all wetland boundary mapping is approximate. In all cases, actual field conditions determine wetland boundaries.

Where property access was granted, wetlands were determined based on inspection of soils, vegetation, and hydrology. For off-site determinations, wetland assessments included visual inspection from an off-site location(s) when available, and the review of existing natural resource mapping, aerial photographs, and recent wetland delineations.

A total of eight wetlands were identified, with a combined area of approximately 5.93 acres. The wetlands are dispersed across the study area, with no concentration in one area. The quality of each wetland was assessed, but none of the wetlands were determined to be locally significant pursuant to the Oregon Department of State Lands Locally Significant Wetlands criteria.

The LWI report, completed in April 2026, is now available for public review and comment until May 15, 2026. If you have questions or comments, please contact Kerry Rappold, Natural Resources Program Manager at 503-570-1570 or rappold@wilsonvilleoregon.gov.
