City to Host Multicultural Dance Celebration on April 3
March 27, 2025 — The City’s Arts, Culture, and Heritage Commission (ACHC) invites the community to experience Wilsonville’s first Multicultural Dance Celebration, a free event that takes place on Thursday, April 3, 6:30-8:30 pm at McMenamin’s Old Church (30340 SW Boones Ferry Rd). Doors open at 6 pm.
The ACHC is hosting this event in celebration of Wilsonville’s diverse community. It seeks to foster cultural appreciation through dance, a powerful form of expression that transcends language barriers, and embodies the history, traditions, and emotions of cultures around the world.
“Wilsonville is a diverse community, and this event is a way to highlight and celebrate that,” ACHC Chair Deb Zundel said. “Dance allows us to connect, share stories, and appreciate different cultures in a meaningful way.”
Featured performers include:
- Eien Hunter-Isikawa, Shishimai – Performing the Ryomen Odori (Double Mask Dance) and a traditional Japanese Lion Dance.
- Jayanthi Raman Dance Company – Presenting Classical Dances of India.
- Danza Azteca – Showcasing Indigenous dance traditions.
The ACHC’s first multicultural dance event supports the City’s Arts, Culture, and Heritage Strategy, which prioritizes cultural diversity to help foster a welcoming and inclusive cultural scene in Wilsonville.
Light refreshments will be available in limited supply, with additional food and beverages available for purchase. Because the venue’s capacity is small, interested parties are encouraged to arrive early.
