2026 Community Survey
Every two years, the City of Wilsonville conducts a statistically-valid Community Survey to gauge resident opinions on a variety of topics. The 2026 National Community Survey™ (NCS), administered by Polco, is now underway.
Phase 1: In mid-March, the NCS is being distributed by mail to a random sample of Wilsonville residents, ensuring a consistent, statistically-significant data set. Participating households have been randomly selected by Polco. Households that receive an invitation by mail are encouraged to follow the enclosed instructions and to complete and return the survey.
Phase 2: For two weeks, April 1-15, the NCS is open for additional community members to participate. Links to access the online opt-in survey will be provided when available. This opt-in survey, identical to the one sent by mail, allows the City to gather feedback from a larger cross-section of community members.
Once survey results have been compiled by Polco, summary data is delivered to the City, analyzed, and reported to the City Council and the public. Results may be compared to results from previous surveys, allowing the City to see trends over time. Local data is also compared against results from more than 500 communities who participate in the NCS, allowing analysts to gauge resident satisfaction here with that in other communities.
Survey Background
The NCS was developed to provide a statistically-valid survey of resident opinions about community and services provided by local government. The NCS focuses on a series of community characteristics and local government services, as well as issues of public trust. Resident behaviors related to civic engagement in the community also are measured.
The NCS report for Wilsonville discusses trends over time, comparing the new data to the previous survey results in 2024, 2022, 2020, 2018, 2016, 2014 and 2012. The report also provides comparisons for Wilsonville’s ratings to national benchmark standards. The survey also covers special topics such as where residents obtain City news and information, preferred methods of communication, and healthy living priorities.
